18" Outdoor Automatic Ice Maker - Stainless Steel

Similar to the other reviews, just before the end of the 3 year warranty, my ice maker started making only flakes of ice. After 3 service calls and two replaced parts, it’s still not working correctly as it only makes flakes that merely melt.

Don’t buy this machine! They deserve 0 stars. Right before the three year warrant ran out, the machine was diagnosed with a sealed system failure. The unit was removed from our home in April of 2018, so the technician could take the machine home and do the work. We returned to our beach house to find the unit unit still was not working. Did nobody test the machine before dropping it off?? Next, they sent a guy out who had no clue what he was doing. He declared that there was a sensor problem. Came back the following week with the wrong part and decided that maybe he could “clean” the unit and maybe that would make the sensor work. Of course it did not. Next appointment, they sent out the 1st tech, who replaced the sealed system. He determined that it now needed a new circuit board. He was due back one week later. We were called and told that they were sent the wrong parts. We were rescheduled to today, and were told that they didn’t have the parts from The service group, after being told by kitchen aid that they would be out today. We have had at least 6 or 7 appointments that a technician came out and looked at the unit and several other appointments that were cancelled due to ordering the wrong part and for whatever other excuse somebody made that day. A complete waste of time, and a total disregard for the customer’s time. Not to mention, Kitchen Aid probably has paid more out in warranty work than it would have been to replace the unit, Pathetic service!!

First summer I had 3 repair crews out. Second summer twice and now there won't be a 3rd summer because at the end of last summer the thing was spraying water everywhere! Don't buy this piece of Junk! Mine will be at the curb for trash pick up if you are desperate.
